inside the cooler, week no. 4

Lettuce, frozen squash, radishes with their greens, baby beets with their greens, garlic scape, micromix (the sprouts of a mesclun mix) and arugula. The lettuce is being used, you know, as lettuce is generally used. The squash is in the freezer; perfect for your morning smoothie or just about anything else... I love squash. The garlic scape will turn into garlic scape pesto, the micromix is topping off our salads and sandwiches, the arugala went over to Sister's for the dinner she made us and the beets... Well, those beets are probably going to go into a chocolate cake. And then I'll feed it to people and not tell them the secret ingredient until after they declare its deliciousness. Love that game.

  1. I just pulled up a bunch of radishes and made a tasty radish salad with lime juice and chili powder. Tasty! Good luck with the beet cake!
