the passionate pixie

Pixie cut update! Yes, I'm still rocking it. The 'do is a little bit longer than it was over the winter, with longer bangs and a different shape. It's also quite dark from the long winter, having just emerged from hibernation and having chopped off all of the lighter sunkissed bits!

I answered a few questions about the ol' pixie cut over at It's Just Hair!, including what inspired me to go short and some of my favorite styling products. And of course, I riff a little bit about society's obsession with long hair and how you can still be pretty and glamorous with short hair. I couldn't resist. Thanks, Erin, for the opportunity to wax poetic about the pixie cut.

  1. Seeing your hair makes me want my pixie back! It looks so lovely :) xx

  2. I am also a pixie fan and have rocked one (in several styles) for the last 1,5 years. Apart from the very very seldom women-look-better-in-long-hair comment I have never had any negative feedback -quite the contrary-, but opinions might be different over this side of the pond (I live in Central Europe). I agree with many of your views: that many women look ultra femenine in a pixie, that I also assume that a woman with a pixie is empowered, bold and confident and I am also digging Ginnifer Goodwin, Michelle Williams and Carey Mulligan among many others. I have not found the perfect products to style it yet, so I will definitely give a try to the Bumble and Bumble products.

I actually found your blog due to the pixie series and love the way your shortest pixie looks on you! :)
